Jim Weihbrecht is ready to cross over from traditional golf into disc golf. His 18 hole, 136 acre Irish Waters course will have a new winter layout so he facility can be used year round. This winter will be the first time he’s trying disc golf and after Tom Jenkins and myself provided a design, he ordered baskets and we’ll kick it all off with a bring your own partner doubles event.

Danny Polk, PDGA #27276 has stepped up his game in the past few months and it paid off today but taking home the win at the Ale Asylum Open in Madison, Wisconsin. Danny’s booming drives and consistent putts helped him coast to a large margin of victory. This rising star will surely win other disc golf tournaments but I’m glad I watched him win his first in person.

Scott Slauson, PDGA #37378 didn’t have anyone to compete against in his eligible master’s field so he stepped up to Open. Good thing he did as he battled with Scotty “Too Hotty” Burtard and finally finished him on the 3rd hole of sudden death. We also have highlights from 2 other sudden death playoffs in Intermediate and Recreational.

With his unique straddle putt on line, Steve Brinster tore up the Winthrop Gold Course by shooting a 56 in the final round of the 2010 USDGC. Brinster is always in the running at big events and he knows his day will come to claim his first PDGA Major. Meanwhile young superstar, Will Schusterick, overcame a 2 stroke deficit in the final round and edged out his ‘elder’, Nikko Locastro for the title.

Nikko Locastro’s good friend Will Schusterick, carded a bogey-free 56 during the 3rd round of the 2010 USDGC but Nikko finished strong and sits just a few strokes back going into the final 18 holes. Nikko is confident that he can make a run at defending his title which is his number one objective.
